7 Family Restaurants Where Kids Eat Free

Let's face it: something a home cooked meal just isn't in the cards. With hectic work schedules and getting the kids to and from schools, not to mention after school activities, it's sometimes a miracle if you can manage to microwave a hot dog or two to throw on the table. For those days, you need a steady standby that's quick, affordable, and family-friendly.

If you're already going to head out to a family restaurant, you may as well save a few bucks and head to a place where kids eat free. Lucky for you, there's one for every day of the week. Here are seven family restaurants where kids can eat free.

Monday: iHOP

On Monday nights, take the family over to iHOP. Kids under 12 eat free from 4pm-8pm with the accompaniment of one paying adult. This doesn't include a drink, but keep in mind - water is free, so drink up! This deal means that a family of four (two kids and two adults) can have dinner for the price of two adults.

Tuesday: Moe's Southwest Grill

Craving some burritos and rice? If it's Tuesday, head over to Moe's Southwest Grill, where kid eat free ALL DAY with one paying adult. We couldn't find a cutoff on age, so it's likely this goes up to kids around 12 years old.

Wednesday: Firehouse Subs

Another kids eat free ALL DAY option for Wednesdays is at Firehouse Subs. Kids have to be accompanied by an adult paying for a full-price combo meal, but it's still a great deal. Again, no age cutoff, but it's safe to assume it goes up to 12 years of age.

Thursday: Sal Sarita's Fresh Cantina

Sal Sarita's is a chain of Mexican restaurants that offers a kids eat free special every Thursday with one paying adult meal. They offer similar menu items to Chipotle, and kids have the option of choosing a taco, quesadilla, or cheese tortilla pizza. Their locations are peppered around the Charleston area, in Columbia, Lexington, Greenville, and Myrtle Beach.

Friday: Shoney's

For casual Fridays, head over to Shoney's for their buffet or menu items. Their kids eat free campaign only covers kids under 4 years old, and they have to be accompanied by an adult paying for a full meal. It's not the best deal out there, but it's something.

Saturday: Maggiano's

Maggiano's is a chain of Italian style restaurants, and they offer free meals to kids under 5 all day long. While a lot of the other restaurants are fast food or fast casual chains, Maggiano's is a sit down restaurant, which is a nice added bonus. So if you want to get out of the hosue and enjoy a meal at a family friendly restaurant, this is a good choice.

Sunday: Dickey's BBQ Pit

Who doesn't love BBQ? Every Sunday at Dickey's BBQ Pit, kids get to eat free all day - and they even include a drink. Like some of the others, there's no cutoff on kids' age, so you can reasonably assume that kids up to age 12 are included.
