If there's one thing we like to do once the chaos of the day has died down and the kids are snug in their beds, it's pop open the laptop and browse some of our favorite mommy blogs - especially by some of our favorite Southern bloggers. Whether it's new recipes to test out, DIY activities to keep the kids busy, or just blowing off some steam about the challenges of parenthood, these mommy blogs know how to inspire us, encourage us, challenge us, and even make us laugh from time to time.

  1. Charm of Charleston - A Charleston transplant from New York, Charm of Charleston is the blog of Sarah. She covers life with one child (and one on the way - congrats Sarah!), along with tips on what to do and where to go in our awesome little port city.
  1. Simply Southern Mom - Georgia mom, Pam, pens the Simply Southern Mom blog and covers all types of creative crafts - like this adorable Halloween wreath - tasty dinner ideas, family travel ideas and tips, and everything in between. We really love her DIY and crafts, which you can find a list of here.
  1. A Southern Mom - Heather is a Texas based mom of 2 who writes about life in the South. Her blog is chock full of great homemade recipes, family activities, tips for busy moms, and great sewing tutorials and projects.
  1. Southern Girl Ramblings - Kecia is an Atlanta, GA based blogger with two young boys and she runs Southern Girl Ramblings where she focuses on food, travel, and other parenthood topics. As a bonus, she also focuses on how to stay sane as a WAHM.
  1. Kidding Around Greenville - Just a couple of hours away is one of our other favorite Carolina cities - the picturesque Greenville! And that's where Bethany Winston heads up the Kidding Around Greenville blog, where she focuses on things to do in Greenville, along with smart parenting and family tips.
  1. Redhead Baby Mama - The proprietor of Redhead Baby Mama, Lindsey, has two little ones and is based in Atlanta. On her blog, she covers parenting tips and tricks, delicious family recipes, and tips for the home.
  1. A Southern Mother - A Southern Mother is written by Jessica Peace-Urgelles, who writes about life and family living on a farm in Kentucky. One of our favorite things about Jessica, though, is her advocacy work for poverty in the US - and specifically in Appalachia. You can find great tips on home decor, family travel, cooking, photography, and life on a farm.
  1. Kayla Aimee - Kayla Aimee runs a blog under the same name where she talks about day to day life with her daughter and husband. She also covers lots of DIY projects and home decor and renovations, which are helpful and great inspiration.  
  1. A Southern Fairy Tale - Texas based Rachel Matthews runs A Southern Fairytale blog, which features TONS of great recipes for all types of occasions - from breakfast recipes to drink ideas, and even full-on holiday multi-course meal ideas.
  1. Mommy Musings - Mommy Musings is a blog written by Stefanie Fauquet - a Florida resident and mother of one. Along with writing about her family, she also covers travel, lifestyle, and food topics.
