3 Thanksgiving Appetizers That Your Kids Will Actually Eat

For most people, Thanksgiving is a time to spend with family and friends, catching up over a delicious meal and splurging a little on desserts. For some people, though, it's just another day to slave over a hot stove in the kitchen, whipping up all kinds of culinary delights - just to have their kids turn up their nose and refuse to eat it.

We've all gone through that phase, the one where your kid refuses to anything put before him unless it's a hot dog or chicken nuggets. So what's a weary parent to do? You might want to give the home cooked a meal one more try, with these three Thanksgiving appetizers that your kids will ACTUALLY eat.

1. Cornbread Muffins

What's better than cornbread? Cornbread in a muffin tin, that's what! Our friends at the Whirly Bird Blog came up with this great cornbread muffin recipe that's perfect for Thanksgiving, and perfect for kids! Better yet, use a fun muffin tin to make these muffins even more kid-friendly and fun to eat. Get the recipe here.

2. Baked Brie and Crackers

Help your child develop a more sophisticated palate by upgrading their grilled cheese to a baked brie. Baked brie is a great appetizer for Thanksgiving dinner, since it's loved by both kids and adults. Just add some age-appropriate crackers and fruits slices (like apples)  for kids to enjoy it with, and you've got a great Thanksgiving appetizer that everyone will love. Find the recipe here.

3. Popcornucopia

If you're running out of ideas for Thanksgiving appetizers, try this dressed up version of popcorn from The Food Network. It's a fun Fall twist on a standard snack. This appetizer features apples, cranberries, sage, pecans, rosemary, and thyme, mixed in with popcorn and a little butter. It also only takes 20 minutes to throw together. Get the recipe here.
